The site has been collecting numerical ratings for over 10 years, and they weren't really being put to very good use. Visitors were also making statistical claims based on the reviews on the site; either calculated by hand, or just by estimating after reading the reviews. The statistics feature hopefully goes some way to improving both of those points. It's certainly being used by visitors; hundreds of the new statistics pages are being viewed each day. Thanks Don.
